BR Hills 


BR Hills Standing for Biligiri Rangana Hills is a home for wide variety of flora and fauna , welcomes you with fresh breeze, songs of birds, beckoning leaves, lush grassland grazed by deers under vibrant sky. BR hills is starting point of Eastern Ghats and close to Western ghats and is a tiger reserve located in Chamarajnagar district, Karnataka, India.


Scenic route to BR hills

BR hills can be reached from two ways, one from Yelandur and other from Chamarajnagar, however route is scenic from latter as you can see from above picture! perfect for road trip and an escape from city life.


Muntjac / Barking deer

We encountered barking deer, I couldn't resist myself from clicking this beautiful curious creature looking at us !

Laughing dove

This dove is named so because its vocals are similar to that of human laughter having long tail and usually seen feeding on the ground.

Mushrooms

You will find these mushrooms richly during and post monsoon season of India.



Silverbill

Indian silver also named as white-throated munia was found perching and communicating with other birds.

Troides minos / Southern birdwing

We just got lucky and watched Troides minos, southern birdwing fluttering around pink flower, the largest butterfly of India which is endemic to south India.

We came across a small lake surrounded by thick forest and pointy valleys at a distance, it is a serene and joyful place

So i sat there still, took a deep breath and rejuvenated myself, Ah what a place ! I feel like revisiting this place again :)

What a beautiful place we all share, lets be more responsible to keep mother nature clean, serene by not throwing away plastics where we travel, avoid unnecessary pollution.

As we continued our photography, found ladybird beetle, said hi to our so called ancestors .

Crested Serpent Eagle is a raptor who feed on vertebrates that are large relative to the hunter.

Baya weaver, the king of nest is a weaverbird known for their hanging retort shaped nests woven from leaves. breeding males will be in bright yellow in color where as non breeding male or female have buffy colors. Nests are built by males during breeding season to impress females,while females choose wisely depending on nest safety, decorations and entrance tube !

Common Bulbul

Bulbul is found commonly in and around gardens, backyard of homes who belong to passerine birds chattering all the time.

Green bee eater usually eats insects especially bees, wasps and ants which are caught , removes the stings, breaks exoskelton and then eats.

White throated kingfisher

Also known as White breasted kingfisher is a tree kingfisher, frequently seen perched on trees, telephone lines near wetlands it gives raptor-like descending trills and cackles during flight.
